Bravely Authentic | Heal Anxiety | Honesty and Self Awareness | Simple Peace Practice
Welcome to ”Bravely Authentic,” the podcast that’s undergone a powerful transformation, just like it’s host. Formerly known as the ”Honest Ugly Podcast,” we’ve realized that true authenticity requires embracing, and being honest about, the beauty and the mess within us. We’re in the process of rebranding because, let’s face it, honesty is actually a beautiful thing. Join us on this journey as we explore the raw and unfiltered aspects of our lives, choosing to live bravely authentic. It’s not always pretty, and we acknowledge that. By being honest about the ”ugly” in ourselves, we’ve discovered the strength to live authentically and embrace the truth of who we are, and the grace we’ve been given to keep on keeping on. If you’re ready to peel back the layers, get real, and embark on a journey towards becoming a more whole and healed version of yourself, then you’ve just stumbled upon your new favorite podcast. We’re not here to sugarcoat or pretend – it’s about to get real, people. Tune in for genuine conversations, relatable stories, and the truest expression of who we are right now, knowing that who we are right now is not who we are going to continue to be. Welcome to ”Bravely Authentic,” where authenticity is not just a goal, but a way of life. I express myself over on IG as @jen.nifer.kindle Want to be a guest here on Bravely Authentic? Email:

Today we are talking about inner peace versus outward calmness, and how we can actually achieve inner peace, regardless of what’s going on around us.
Many of us might have a misconception that these two terms mean the same thing, but there is a subtle difference between them.
Inner peace is vital to our emotional and physical well-being. When we are at peace within ourselves, we are better able to manage stress, anxiety, and other difficult emotions. We can make better decisions, have healthier relationships, and be more productive.
Inner peace helps us to live in the present moment and appreciate the good things in life, who doesn't want to stay in that place of being grateful for the right now!
4 tips to practice seeking peace today, I hope you're encouraged!

Somewhere along the way, I picked up the notion that I needed to beg God over and over and over again. That I needed to plead my cause, that I needed to keep coming to him with my requests.
One day, God’s spirit whispered into me that I was praying out of fear and that I was wasting my efforts on begging God to do something He already promised to do.
He began showing me that I didn’t have to beg Him to keep his promises. He is a promise keeper!
And he began showing me that my prayer life needed to shift into a time of being honest with my emotions about His spiritual promises not lining up with what I could see with my physical eyes. He began showing me that I needed to offer my fears and lack of trust and concerns and worries to him so he could take my weak faith and grow it into a more solid faith in his abilities to do all he has said he would do.
Be encouraged today with one, maybe two tips on how to start taking God at His Word so you can exhale anxiety and inhale peace!

Do you struggle with anxiety?
Life is hard and anxiety is common, but we don’t have to be controlled by it. We can feel it rise up in us, but we can subdue it.
I’m not saying that as a believer we won’t struggle with anxiety, but what I am saying is that we have the power within us to take our thoughts captive and make them obey truth in such a way that we can exhale our anxiety, and inhale His peace.
Today I share my own distorted view of God that has hindered most of my life. I have lived like I believed that God is a dictator that demands perfection. I wouldn't have said I believe that, but my response to life has proven otherwise.

For such a time as this, will you rise up and let the fire inside your bones come out however He made you to express Him?

Do you ever get exhausted by the expectations people put on you simply because you're a Christian?
Perfection is unattainable, yet often people expect you to be perfect, and they very seldom offer grace when you aren't.
You won't leave here with any tips or tricks to tackle life with gusto, but I hope you're encouraged to know that I'm an imperfect person who happens to be a Christian. I'm in the trenches of the struggle with you and I'm here to hold your hand and offer you a lot of grace as you practice showing up to life even when it's hard.
When I've told friends, "I don't want to be a Christian podcaster," they laugh and say, "You'll always be a Christian Podcaster, because you're a Christian!" And it's true, but I'm just a podcaster who happens to be loved by a really gracious God who invites you into unconditional love.
We've got this because God's got us!

There’s no more effort in trying to keep the peace, you just settle into the peace that being true to your God given identity gives you.

The thing is … if we could disappoint God, then His love would be conditional, but we know from scripture that his love is unconditional. We often project our human inability to love unconditionally on God, but His love, his unconditional love has no room for disappointment over us.
What if we lived in freedom and grace and realized that our failures still representing God in a way that maybe we've never thought of before.
Check out today's episode, and be encouraged that you can't do anything to make God love you more, and you can't do anything to make God love you less.
