Bravely Authentic | Heal Anxiety | Honesty and Self Awareness | Simple Peace Practice

Welcome to ”Bravely Authentic,” the podcast that’s undergone a powerful transformation, just like it’s host. Formerly known as the ”Honest Ugly Podcast,” we’ve realized that true authenticity requires embracing, and being honest about, the beauty and the mess within us. We’re in the process of rebranding because, let’s face it, honesty is actually a beautiful thing. Join us on this journey as we explore the raw and unfiltered aspects of our lives, choosing to live bravely authentic. It’s not always pretty, and we acknowledge that. By being honest about the ”ugly” in ourselves, we’ve discovered the strength to live authentically and embrace the truth of who we are, and the grace we’ve been given to keep on keeping on. If you’re ready to peel back the layers, get real, and embark on a journey towards becoming a more whole and healed version of yourself, then you’ve just stumbled upon your new favorite podcast. We’re not here to sugarcoat or pretend – it’s about to get real, people. Tune in for genuine conversations, relatable stories, and the truest expression of who we are right now, knowing that who we are right now is not who we are going to continue to be. Welcome to ”Bravely Authentic,” where authenticity is not just a goal, but a way of life. I express myself over on IG as @jen.nifer.kindle Want to be a guest here on Bravely Authentic? Email:

This is the second part of the mindfulness conversation started in episode 81.

In this episode, we delve into the benefits of mindfulness and ways to practice developing the habit of being fully present, aware, and engaged in the moments of your life.

We discuss how mindfulness can help us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings, take our thoughts captive, and make them obey truth.

Additionally, we talk about how mindfulness can reduce stress, cultivate a greater sense of gratitude, and improve our relationships with others. We share some techniques and approaches to start practicing mindfulness, such as meditation, observing our thoughts through the filter of all things lovely and praiseworthy, and being fully present to the moment.

We encourage listeners to practice being mindful and fully present to experience joy they never knew was there to be found.

In this episode, we explore the power of mindfulness and how it can benefit Christians. We discuss the common misconceptions Christians may have about mindfulness and why it's important to practice being present.

We are constantly multitasking, juggling multiple responsibilities, and trying to keep up with the demands of our work and personal lives. When it feels chaotic,  it's easy to lose sight of the present moment and the simple pleasures of life.

When we reject the practice of mindfulness, we are rejecting God’s invitation to be fully present, to experience more relational intimacy, and to allow us to be productive all of our responsibilities while still living in a place of peace and rest.

In this episode, we explore the powerful concept of being God's child and all the love, forgiveness, and grace that comes with it.
Building on yesterday's 5-minute meditation on our identity in Christ, we dive deeper into what it means to truly recognize and accept our status as beloved children of God.
Through a series of journal prompts, we explore questions such as "How do I feel knowing that I am God's child?" and "Do I actually believe that I am loved?"
These prompts allow us to reflect on our emotions, examine our beliefs, and let go of any past mistakes or wrongdoings that we may still be holding onto.
As we conclude the journal prompts, we are reminded that we are loved, forgiven, and extended grace, no matter what we do or don't do. This episode is a powerful reminder of the unshakeable love of God and how we can fully embrace it in our daily lives.
JOURNAL QUESTIONS
How do I feel knowing that I am God's child and that I am loved, forgiven, and extended grace?
Do I actually believe that I am loved?
Have I accepted forgiveness? What about grace?
Do I believe that there is nothing I can do to make God love me more, and that there is nothing I can do to make God love me less?
How does this journal prompt make me feel about my daily life and the way I treat myself?
Remember to take a deep breath and reflect on each question before moving on to the next one. And always remember that you are loved, forgiven, and extended grace as a child of God.

Today’s episode discusses the importance of understanding our identity in relation to who God says we are.
Our identity is shaped by various factors, but the most foundational aspect of our identity is our understanding of who we are in relation to God. This episode emphasizes that getting clear on who God says we are is essential to living a life of purpose, joy, and fulfillment.
I suggest spending time in prayer and reflection, meditating on scriptures, and recognizing beliefs and behaviors out of alignment with our identity in God, because all of these can help us live in harmony with our true selves.
I mention ten scriptures to help listeners understand who God says they are. You can see those below.
Finally, today’s episode emphasizes that our beliefs and thoughts are foundational, and getting clear on who God says we are is essential to living a confident and fulfilling life.

Ten things the Bible tells us about our identity in Christ:
We are God's children. "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" (1 John 3:1)
We are forgiven. "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace." (Ephesians 1:7)
We are new creations. "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" (2 Corinthians 5:17)
We are loved. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
We are chosen. "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." (1 Peter 2:9)
We are free. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." (Galatians 5:1)
We are empowered. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
We are heirs. "Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory." (Romans 8:17)
We are righteous. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Corinthians 5:21)
We are called. "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

In this podcast, Jennifer talks about how waiting for inspiration to strike is a recipe for inaction. She shares her personal experience as a writer, where she realized that she couldn't write unless she was first inspired. However, she learned that inspiration always comes when she is in motion. Jennifer believes that we need to change our limiting beliefs about ourselves, and we should ask ourselves if we're waiting to be inspired before taking action on our gifts and ideas. She also emphasizes that achieving our goals requires consistent effort, commitment, and discipline, even when we don't feel inspired or motivated. Jennifer believes that inspiration is not some magical force outside of us but within us. She believes that cultivating daily habits that reflect who we are created to be and how we want to show up in life is important. In the end, Jennifer encourages everyone to take ownership of their actions and show up how they wish everyone else would show up.
